Jo Mortimer

About

By way of introduction...

Brought up in the Sussex countryside on the family farm, my passion for nature and history was instilled in me from an early age. I travelled extensively and began to write stories and articles, published online and in print. For many years, I worked in the fields of mental health and SEND for young people and adults. Eventually, I took a train to Paris to study an MA in history and culture. After a few years of Parisian joie de vivre, I’m back at the foot of the South Downs.

You may be struggling to find a specialist in the humanities, nature or mental health - they can be tricky subjects with complex vocabularies and nuanced tones. Never fear, I am here.

I love to learn, and I’m fastidious with words, so I became a proofreader. I've worked on books, articles and reports for academics, artists and adventurers.

Your words are my business, and I look forward to reading them.

Jo did an excellent job of editing and proofreading my journal article. As well as delivering the work within a very short time frame, Jo showed her thorough knowledge of psychology, with editing suggestions that have improved the quality and impact of the writing.
